Having or Wanting Home

"Home is the place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in."

These lines extracted from The Death of the Hired Man by Robert Frost are powerful words. It bespeaks a dutiful response on the patrons of the home. Not so much of the delightfulness of a father who waits anxiously for the return of his child. Such was the case of the Prodigal Son, and such was my case as well. On my return "home" after years and years of absence I was welcomed not because they had to take me in, but rather because they wanted to. In fact, they'd been longing and praying for my return for years. So I would disagree with Frost and say that "Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they want to take you in."
