Dwarfed Giants

Do you know, I get up at five every morning; I work from morning till night; I am always handling my own money or other people's, and I see the sort of men there are about me. One has only to begin to do anything to see how few honest and decent people there are. Sometimes as I lie awake in bed, I think: "O Lord, you have given us mighty forests, boundless fields, and immeasurable horizons, and we, living in their midst, ought really to be giants."
The words of Lopakhin from The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov.
Isn't this the case? With so much available to us, in nature and society and so much more, we have been dwarfed. We have lost our position as giants. God intended for us to be giants. He created us to be titans. We were to "control" nature. Now we can't even control the products of our own hands. Technology has overpowered us. Society dictates over us (what we wear, who we talk to, and even what we talk about). Nature is in constant conflict with us. All of this because of the Fall. Thanks, Adam. Real smart move on your part.
